2004 Coachella Valley Music Festival

I'm going. By myself. Even though tickets for the sold out show on Saturday May 1st are going for $300+ on eBay. Stay tuned for pics and details...

05/02/04 (12:04am): Just got back from the festival. Really had a blast. Everything was very well organized and most of the people were cool, tho the temperature was anything but that. I got down to Indio at about 11, and had already parked and passed through security by noon...

Too many earlybirds and not enough worms

We're off to a promising start at least...

"Remember that we parked in Lot 2 right by a patch of brown grass"

Making us sweat as much as possible before the full-body search

While in line, I noticed that many of the Goth persuation were in attendance. I wondered how they would fare in their all black garb and dark eyeshadow on a 107 degree day! Don't those kids ever take the day off? Aren't they allowed to call in sick once in a while?

Grunge is dead, and this guy is gonna be as well if he insists on that knit cap!

This is more like it. These guys rock.

I arrived just in time to catch The Section Quartet, who were the first band playing. They were a string quartet doing Radiohead covers. Since I'm not a real big Radiohead fan (more later), I wandered off soon after to look around...

Be sure to visit the gift shoppe on the way to the beer tent

I prefer Methadone in my ears personally...
