Here's a fond memory. During recess, all of the kids at Key
used to split up into two teams and throw rocks at each other.
No, I am not making this up! (I have no idea where all of the adults were either).
One day at recess, somebody told me to stand in front of this wall.
Then the rest of my class proceeded to rip up chunks of the newly-paved
asphalt and throw it at me. Not wanting to disappoint anybody,
I just stood there. Luckily, they missed me.
Jimmy Shelton wasn't so lucky. He got hit in the head during an
all-out assault one afternoon and had to be rushed to the hospital.
I remember him coming back to school with a huge lump sticking out of
the top of his partially shaved head.
Used to play marbles right under this awning.
Guess we trashed the place during our visit.

In my mind, the Marilyn Carolyn legend lost some credibility when I saw these. I'm sure we had real mirrors in the bathrooms when we were kids. No way is old Marilyn gonna come screaming outta some polished steel plate...
