ROBBIE DISNER'S SILENT SLAUGHTERHOUSE

These are some frame grabs from a movie I shot in the summer of 1979. The movie was a blatant Monty Python rip-off called "Robbie Disner's Silent Circus," and it starred John Meyers, Mark Megerian, and Brian Price. I remember we were so proud of this, we actually held a screening for the whole block at Mark's house when we saw the results!

I was just thrilled that I got the exposures close enough to actually identify the people in the film. I shot this with my grandfather's Kodak Brownie 8 movie camera from the early '60s. I have it sitting right next to me on my desk, actually.

For the uninitiated, this was a wind-up camera that shot on the left and right halves of a special 50 ft spool of 16mm film. You would take the roll out of the camera half-way through filming and flip it over to expose the other half of the frame. And then you would pray to god you didn't expose the first 90 seconds of your movie in the process!
